It's a small world

When I was on vacation to Alaska I had 3 small world experiences. Well, actually, probably only 2 but the other one was interesting too, so I included it anyway. Blah, blah, blah, on with the show!... IASW1: When Jim, his brother and I went to pick up his Mum from church, I was introduced to a woman whose maiden name is....Arbuckle! Wow! I've never met another Arbuckle outside my family. Could she be a long lost relative? Turns out that's unlikely. She said we're not related to the man who ran the Arbuckle Coffee empire either; turns out he didn't have kids. Damn! So much for my grand dreams of inheriting a jittery caffeinated ton of cash. :-( IASW2: Jim and I were taking his sister's dog for a walk to a lookout. When we arrived we saw a massive camper with "Montana" emblazoned on the side and with Montana plates. Jim started talking to one of the people from it. Found out they were from Missoula (icky, yucky, barfy! [for those of you that don't know, that's the location of our rival university. Go Cats; Grizz Suck!]). When her companions showed up she gave them the run down on us (I'm from Three Forks, we went to MSU, live in Australia...) One of the guys said, "Three Forks, huh? When did you go to school there? My sister taught home ec there." Holy cow! His sister was my Home Ec teach for a couple of years. Freaky! IASW3: Me and half the family went on an excursion to the Russian village. On the way back we decided to stop at a fish processing place to buy some very addictive and delicious (not to mention outrageously priced!) habanero salmon. As we were standing their waiting for someone to let us pay, I noticed a customer writing his address on the fish he caught that this place was organising to ship for him. His address was Polson, Montana. So, I had to ask..."Do you know Frank and Lulu Stock? Their daughter is a very good friend of mine." Yup, he and his companions knew them. What? Has everyone from Montana moved to Alaska for the summer and destined to meet me? Good thing I left Alaska not long after this happened so I didn't completely freak out (and bore you to death with these stories...lucky you!).
