maids!

I can't believe the luck I have with maids. The first one we had was wonderful but Roshini didn't come back from her holiday in Sri Lanka. In her absence her friend Renu has been cleaning for me. Last week before I went to Bahrain I tried to call her to tell her that I wasn't going to be around when she came to clean. Through several misunderstandings on phone calls I never did get her to come around so I could talk to her in person to tell her. (Her English isn't that good, her sister's is a smidge better and my Sri Lankan is nonexistent.) So I taped a note to the door telling her to just use her key to come in and clean. Arrived back from Bahrain to find that the house hadn't been cleaned. I was getting ready to call Renu a couple days later to have her come buy when I happened to see her sister. Renu's gone back to Sri Lanka for a few months holiday. What?! Was this sudden? She never mentioned it (or perhaps she did and I didn't understand due to language difficulties?!)! So I asked her sister if she'd come and clean. Sure, she said, Wednesday morning at 8:30am. Today's Wednesday, 8:30 comes and goes and eventually about 10 I go next door to see if the maid there could come clean for me today. (A couple days ago she said she was available for part time work.) Turns out that she new that Renu and her sister wouldn't be coming by to clean. Nice! Maid number 4 is here now, thank goodness. The pet hair is starting to form new animals and I don't have enough transport cages to take any more pets when we move!
