New shoes!...
I bought the CUTEST pair of shoes and I'm not even going to wear them! Check these out. I'm getting them put into a shadow box frame. They're actually made in Pakistan, not Arabia. I paid too much for them at the Madinat. I'd have bought them elsewhere if I'd seen them anywhere else (though I have actually seen some people wearing them...workers no less!). I also got hennaed again and I thought I'd show you the progression of it. This is what it looks like just after the henna paste has been applied. I was sitting in the shop letting it dry a little bit. I think it looks terribly unattractive just after you take the paste off. It's a nasty orange color, isn't it? Plus my hand looks as shiny as a muscle bound geek in a muscle contest 'cause I put some olive oil on the design (a tip the artist gave me when we were chatting while I was letting the paste dry). And this is the "matured" henna. I had another Indian girl do this design. It's an Arabic design, though, and I got lots of info on henna. I'm thinking of getting my palm done next time (I'll be going back again before I move but I won't bore you with more details next time). She said that the palm sucks up the henna (I'm sure she used much better words!) better and though the skin of your palms touches more things, the pattern will still last as long. Might also get my finger tips done like I've seen a lot of Arabic women do. I hope I can find a henna shop in Virginia! Oh, and today I sold the very last thing that I wanted to sell! These people didn't even bargain with me. The only other offer I'd had on it was nearly half what I was asking. :-)

Nice henna! Much better than the last one. The hand's kinda cute, too.
